"Dolphin & Yoga" retraite Kroatië: 14-21 augustus 2021
All our great passions united in this unique yoga retreat!
Imagine this: Adriatic sea. Serene turquoise bays. Meditation on the boat. Asanas on the beach or on the upper deck. Lectures and discussions about life according to yoga. Making the science of yoga blend into your everyday life. Making it simple and down to earth. Summer breeze in your hair. Fresh plant-based food. Glowing plankton in the night. Dolphins.
A week fully blended into nature. With the focus on yourself and your experience.
What could be better then spending a week in the middle of Mediterranean summer on a beautiful and cozy wooden sailing boat while practicing & learning all the aspects of yoga under guidance of a renowned international teacher Ron van der Post (NL) assisted with Ana Mikac (CRO) who will make sure you have everything you might need? If you want to give yourself a really precious and valuable time, contact us and book this trip.
We will start in Split and sail slowly towards and around Vis island (Blue cave, filming spot for big movies like Mamma Mia…). Focus on our route will be private spots, serenity, and keeping an eye on dolphin encounters. To understand why we combine all this definitely read further.
Even though we have a beautiful yoga study center in the north of Croatia , we love to organize this trip for you because it truly blends together our love for the summer, sea, dolphins, meditation and yoga practice. Dolphins and the ocean have always been a great passion of Ana and she also studied in that area with focus on dolphin population study. Dolphin encounters can have a tremendous impact on humans because of their purity as well as the subtle vibrations produced in their melon (organ in their head). As for the yoga part, due to his special experience with his Guru throughout the last 30 years, Ron is an expert in yoga and has a great skill of bringing the yogic philosophy down to earth, living in everyday life.
Summer nights have a truly magical scent to them, especially in the areas we will be visiting on our wooden sailing boat. The boat is old which makes it have a really unique and cozy energy to it. Perfect for our needs. There are 3 kinds of rooms available on the boat: with a French bed, bunk beds and French bed+ one bunk bed. Please be aware that the accommodation is basic, but the atmosphere is great.
Daily program might vary depending on the conditions in nature and what the group will need at a certain moment. We kindly ask you to be a bit open minded & flexible since we can not predict some of the influences from the outside. What we would like to provide you is an idea about an approximate daily program which might look like this:
08.30- 09.00: breathing excercises/pranayama
09.30: short tea break
The morning practice will be dynamic and challenging. We will discover the possibilities of the body and we will play with the physical/mental borders. Always with respect for what is possible or not. The challenge is to play, not to reach the final pose. We will talk about the logic behind the poses and of the body, the effect and the purpose of the practical part of the Ashtanga yoga. What is the cause of limitation and how can we overcome this limitation. Why do we function the way we do. There is a perfect philosophy which is based on ages of experience of the yogi’s.
Every day we like to start with early morning meditation, asanas and pranayama and there will be at least one lecture / interactive discussion throughout the day in which we like to go deep into a certain topic. If there are topics which you would like to discuss during the retreat you can send them already in advance so that we can incorporate them into the program. Also, during the retreat, there will always be opportunity to ask all the questions you have. Interaction is the way we like to work.
This retreat will be a challenge for those who are already practicing for a while and are looking for more. Those who are curios about the background of what yoga really is. Those with serious medical problems should consult a doctor for advice and inform us in advance. The schedule throughout the week can vary depending on the day and several other facultative activities we will organise for you such as dolphin watching and visit to a Blue cave.
